Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer with a focus on platform reliability to join our dynamic Core engineering team.

The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable platform solutions that drive our e-commerce business forward.

As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for setting technical direction, mentoring other engineers, and ensuring our platform architecture supports rapid growth and reliability.
📍This open role can be based in all of our tech hubs in Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn or Berlin. You can choose whether you want to work from home, from the office or hybrid.

Qualifications

Platform Development: Lead the design and development of a robust, scalable platform architecture that supports our business goals and growth. 
Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and leadership to multiple teams to ensure best practices in software development, deployment, and maintenance.
Innovation: Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to improve platform performance, scalability, reliability and security.
Mentor: Mentor and guide engineers at various levels, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborate: Work closely with Core´s engineers and other engineering teams to align platform initiatives with business needs and goals.
Reliability&Observability:  Ensure the reliability of our platform through the rigorous adoption of high-quality observability dashboards and SLOs across the engineering organization. Design, develop, and maintain SRE tooling to automate and streamline incident management processes. Develop tooling to measure the SRE maturity of applications and services, integrating with existing platforms like Wolt's Developer Platform. Tools and Dashboards Consolidation.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, design decisions, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks and reliability issues to ensure the platform operates efficiently at scale.
Security: Implement and enforce security best practices to protect data and maintain the integrity of our platform in alignment with our Security Engineers.
Data-driven decision-making: Using facts, metrics, and data to guide strategic decisions that align with your goals, objectives, and initiatives.
Hands-on: Jump on implementation topics wherever seniority is needed. (Go/Python)
