This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to lead a high-performing, autonomous product team while shaping the technical direction of major projects. You will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable, cloud-based software solutions from conception to production, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position allows you to mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and have a direct impact on product quality, reliability, and operational excellence. You will work with modern technologies in a collaborative, agile environment that values innovation, ownership, and user-focused problem solving. Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and ship scalable, performant software as part of a Product team
  • Define architectures, write RFCs, and set technical standards for your team’s projects and features
  • Support operational awareness and end-to-end ownership of services in production environments
  • Mentor engineers up to Senior level, fostering technical growth and team excellence
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, non-technical stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear, pragmatic solutions
  • Promote engineering best practices and technical standards across the organization
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex systems, ensuring reliability and performance
  • Requirements:

    • Proven track record in designing and delivering scalable cloud-based software and services
    • Previous experience as a Staff or Senior Engineer, with leadership and mentorship experience
    • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React
    • Experience building and operating backend systems, including caching strategies, message queues, SQL/NoSQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines
    • Familiarity with DevOps, incident management, instrumentation, and logging for production services
    • Ability to collaborate with non-technical colleagues to clarify requirements and deliver impactful solutions
    • Strong ownership, initiative, and alignment with agile principles
    • Empathy for users, teammates, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and enjoyable team environment
