The role of the Battery Management System (BMS) Hardware design engineer works as a member of the High Voltage (HV) Battery Team and is responsible for High-Voltage Battery BMS Hardware development from concept to delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design the BMS control board in accordance with systems requirements including functional and ISO-26262
• Responsible for new product device and parts selection • Perform schematic capturing and diagram • Develop PCB layout
• Responsible for HW functional debugging
• Perform circuit simulation (analog and digital) using LTSpice or equivalent
• Support BMS DV and PV testing
• Coordinate and support for prototype sample delivery, assembly, debugging
• Responsible for production BOM sorting and maintenance
• Responsible for design documentation writing
• Support system DFMEA development

Required Qualifications:

• BS, MS, in EE, CE, CS or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in automotive embedded control systems design (experience for BMS projects preferred)
• Familiar with the design of digital circuits and analog circuits, skilled use of design tools such as Altiumn Designer
• Experience in BMS hardware architecture, schematic design and validations
• Familiar with state of the art micro controllers and other critical BMS ICs application
• Detailed understanding of how HW selection and design will impact BMS functionality and performance
• Experience with DFMEA and FTA for system/HW
• Capable of electrical analysis using circuit design and simulation tools
• Familiarity with ISO-26262 hardware requirements.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols: CAN/CAN FD, isoSPI, UART etc.
• Experience in EMC testing and EMC analysis
• Excellent problem-solving skills; Strong communication, multitasking, interpersonal skills, technical writing, and presentation

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $­­­­70,000 and $100,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
