What you'll do...
Position: Staff Front End Software Engineer
Job Location: 680 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Provide technical leadership and use engineering best practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide projects. Participate in the discovery phase of projects to develop high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams. Demonstrate craftsmanship and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration. Work with Walmart's Web Platform community to drive improvement to the overall foundation on which Walmart.com stands. Identify, leverage, and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity, product quality, and efficiency. Manage and maintain multiple production and non-production environments, ensuring that these environments are setup with the standard automated build and releases processes. Build, leverage, and analyze tools, application logs, and analytics data to determine improvements to the product and engineering services. Monitor the health of web pages and work cross-functionally with partner teams such as Site Ops, Network, Storage, Systems, and Monitoring & Application. Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development, product, and business teams. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact across teams. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 2 years of front-end software development experience.
Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Node JS. Experience with web application development using Javascript (ES6+), JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3. Experience using APIs, HTTP, and REST architecture. Experience with single page applications using React, Redux, and React-Router. Experience testing web applications using Jest, Enzyme, and React Testing Library. Experience creating visually rich and interactive, responsive applications using CSS, styled components, and emotion/react. Experience working with Relational Database Management System MySQL. Experience implementing and Integration with GraphQL APIs. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
