Staff Full-Stack Engineer

Navan has disrupted the corporate Travel, Payment, and Expense market putting the user’s needs always at the center of our solutions. You now have the unique opportunity to become one of the first team members of a brand new venture at Navan that is aiming at disrupting the Meetings & Events industry! In your role, you will have a high degree of flexibility to shape a fast growing product from the ground up, working in a high profile cross-functional team and launching new features at a fast pace. 

As a Staff Full-Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for leading, designing, and developing mission critical product features and services that power our innovative Meetings & Events solution.  

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the design, development, launch and evolution of the core backend and frontend of the Meetings & Events platform in a scalable and reliable way
• Ensure the quality of the features you built, following-up on usage and issues post release
• Drive frameworks that lead to significant user experience improvements
• Be the Subject Matter Expert of the domains under your ownership 
• Guide the team in understanding and adopting new technologies
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other teams as well as external partners
• Detect and navigate technical dependencies with other parts of the wider organization
• Assist the leadership to identify, plan, and execute the long-term vision
• Live our company values and team culture by example, and mentor more junior team members

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience in BE development using Java
• 4+ years of experience in FE development using Angular, typescript, and React
• Prior experience working at startups and/or on user-facing applications plus ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Master the understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures
• Domain expertise in the travel industry is a plus
• Experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate or similar ORM technologies is a plus
• Experience with AWS and/or distributed systems is a plus
• Track record of ownership demonstrated through shipping production-quality code equipped with testing, monitoring and documentation
• Passion for investigating and solving problems with a high degree of autonomy and eagerness to learn and utilize new tools and technologies
• Team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to pass on knowledge to more junior team members
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
