BILL is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior/Staff Software Full Stack Engineer to join our AP Vendors Engineering team. As the Senior/Staff engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our backend systems to build/manage the web experience and APIs for our vendors product.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about building innovative products, driven to solve real customer problems, building backend systems at scale and thrives on solving high-scale performance challenges. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems daily , build and scale our advanced payable platform for millions of users.

Core Product - Vendors Team:

Our team manages several key features that help the AP (Advanced Payables) user manage their day to day relationships with their vendor. Being the first part of the user workflow, our pages get a lot of traffic which makes API performance and user experience a top priority for our team. We are also heavy on ideating, experimenting with new features that could potentially add value to our user workflow. Our next big adventure has put us on a path to solve our most sought after user feature request - A BILL tax solution!
As a key engineer on the vendors team, you will be primarily responsible for building , managing API for vendors, adding enhanced monitoring for its performance, building alerts to proactive respond to downtime and eventually possibly moving our domain into our own microservice away from the monolith. Your work will also include architecting and building a home for our upcoming tax platform that can grow either under our vendor's domain or even blossom into its own.

We’d love to chat if you have:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience developing customer facing systems/software for large business environments platforms on Java/J2EE and messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ)
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals - Data structures, Algorithms, Computer networking and databases
• Experience with REST API development.
• Passion for and track record of building great products and experiences
• Proven ability to take the product from concept to launch
• Experience in healthy participation around brainstorming product ideas, grooming user stories and being a champion for the user experience.
• Experience in a high-velocity, high-scale SaaS environment, with monthly major releases and weekly minor releases. Experience with CI/CD environments is a plus.
• Familiar with front end technologies like Angular and/ React

Nice to have:

• Expertise with using AWS services to build microservices
• Experience with tools like Datadog, mixpanel, launchDarkly, etc.
• Experience with webpack module federation
