This Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical and Materials Engineer to work within our Engineered Construction service line executing a wide range of projects related to transportation, industrial/commercial, and government sectorsPosition would include execution of field and laboratory projects related to roadways and railways, levees and dams , commercial and industrial site development, and government services. Role would be based in our Nashville, Tennessee office.

Your Impact

The successful candidate should be flexible in assignments, willing to travel periodically, and eager to learn. Technical services work areas include:
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals
  • Perform field inspections and investigations under supervision of project engineer
  • Coordinate/work with project team members
  • Responsibility for certain aspects of a project including execution, safety, scope development, and quality control
  • Manage and deliver laboratory, and field geotechnical, and Construction Materials testing projects safely, on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in geology, geological engineering, or geotechnical engineering
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering is preferred
  • Engineer Intern is preferred
  • Must have strong oral/written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Knowledge of geotechnical software (slope stability, settlement, deep foundations, finite element modeling, etc.) preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Physical requirements may require lifting up to 50 pounds and traverse over rugged terrain
