Staff IT Product Manager - Data and Analytics
Job Description
Databricks is looking for a Product Manager to lead roadmap, scoping, and planning efforts for our data analytics team. You will work closely with the data platform team, as well as business leaders across the sales organization, finance, People Ops and Product leaders to define and shape ideas for business analytics. You will report to the SVP, deputy CIO of IT and work closely with our leadership and business partners.
The impact you will have:
- Develop a strong understanding of our data platform, as well as understand our lakehouse architecture using Databricks own product set.
- Build strong relationships with our internal team and business partners
- Meet with our business partners and business analysts to define and improve project scope and success criteria
What we look for:
- 8+ years of relevant product management experience with a proven track record engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with different components in the data analytics space including visualization tools as well as deep understanding of data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Big Query, Databricks platform etc. and their capability sets to address the analytics needs of the enterprise.
- Experience with different components in the data ecosystem - ETL technologies such as Fivetran, SPARK etc. to ingest data into a central lakehouse.
- Experience with Tableau to drive strong visualization dashboards
- Understanding of the key metrics that impact the various business lines - sales, marketing, support, product etc.
- Communication: this individual will be responsible for interacting with senior leadership (VP and above) in the organization and in building trust and partnership to drive a capabilities roadmap needed and communicating status updates on the various programs in progress.
- Subject Matter Knowledge: This individual will be responsible for an outreach to the customer base *developing a POV on our own Databricks product set, showcasing a databricks on databricks story, build a roadmap to address that, influencing the business to that POV, grooming the product backlog, defining user stories, interacting with the developers in IT to get the roadmap executed upon, and be the product owner for the agile scrum team responsible for the delivery of these capabilities.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and develop strong questions that will enable us to refine scope and measure the definition success
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce and common go to market and finance business processes
- Strong knowledge of consumption based business models
- Strong understanding and experience with Agile/Scrum teams as a Product Owner
- Strong domain expertise working with teams across organizations with stellar track record of success
- Strong data analysis skills
- Strong data and metrics skills to backup assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
