Title: Staff Platform Engineer (SDO)
Location: Remote
Terms:  Full-Time

Overview: The Staff Platform Engineer for the SDO team reports to the Principal Platform Engineer. The Software Delivery and Operational Performance (SDO) team is responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting a cross-organizational platform to help all teams deliver and monitor secure workloads on the cloud with as little friction as possible. The SDO team is also responsible to provide support to other teams dusing outages and help troubleshoot complex operational issues.

 
Responsibilities:  (Comprehensive list of day-to-day responsibilities for this person)

• Help build and operate a cross-organizational SDO platform 
• Teach and document software delivery practices
• Help troubleshoot complex platform outages
• Support engineering teams with architecting, building, monitoring and supporting their workloads
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to build a secure software delivery pipeline

Basic Qualifications:  (Bulleted list of the absolute minimum requirements someone must meet to be considered for this position)

•  Strong knowledge of Git.
•  Strong knowledge of Linux and lower-level subsystems.
•  Strong knowledge of networking. i.e. TCP, HTTP, DNS, Routing, VPC
•  Strong knowledge of service oriented architecture (SOA). i.e.  REST, OpenAPI, gRPC
•  Strong Knowledge of security best practices.
•  Strong technical writing ability.
• Strong knowledge of the inner workings of Kubernetes. Kubernetes architecture, operators, controllers

Preferred Qualifications:  (Bulleted list of qualifications of strongly desired qualifications or experience (Degree, certifications etc.) Consider these to be something that can separate an average candidate from a top-tier candidate)

• Experience working with Kustomize and Skaffold
• Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience working on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Experience with GitOps i.e. Flux, ArgoCD
