Staff Product Manager, Security Experience 

Security is core to Fastly’s mission of delivering a fast, engaging and safe internet experience. It is a critical component to product performance, customer experience, sales effectiveness and ultimately business results. We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead, develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Security product experience. It is a highly visible and cross functional role with the potential to drive significant impact on the onboarding, management, reporting and visualization of our entire security product suite.

This position can be based in our San Francisco, Portland, Denver, New York, London, and Japan offices, or work remotely.  

What You'll Do

  • You’ll lead, develop, execute and evangelize the roadmap and vision for a unified and consistent user interface and customer experience across the entire security product suite as a part of the Fastly platform
  • You’ll develop a clear understanding of customer needs, innovate to bring empowering and differentiated user experiences for Fastly’s customers.
  • You’ll be a strong advocate and liaise with other Security product managers and with cross-disciplinary teams such as product designers, platform, engineers, program managers and support to achieve a user experience centered around ease of use, performance and ability to achieve faster outcomes
  • You’ll take a holistic approach across all security products and provide the optimal user experience
  • You’ll work closely with the platform team in shaping the overall product experience of the prospect and customer from acquisition and onboarding to billing and support
  • You’ll define, drive, document and deliver user journey & experience through application that our customers love to use
  • You’ll scope features and launch plans to ensure constant improvement of the user experience
  • You’ll focus on quick testing and iteration of user experience features
  • You’ll report, present and demonstrate new functionality to the extended product and leadership teams on key features 
  • You’ll define, monitor and report on clear requirements, KPIs and acceptance criteria to deliver high quality and engaging products.
  • You’ll ensure tracking of high priority customer and internally reported issues for quick resolution 

What We're Looking For

  • You have 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Product Manager building product user experiences working with cloud applications
  • You must have deep knowledge and understanding of Security user personas and their needs
  • You must be able to operate strategically and tactically. You must be able to craft and present a bird's eye view and also be hands on, prescribing the plan and needs. 
  • You must have experience driving to top to bottom requirements, i.e., translating vision into actionable requirements
  • You must have experience that demonstrates a deep understanding of users, what they need, what they value, their abilities, and also their limitations
  • You must have experiences taking account of the business goals and objectives while being detail oriented
  • You are an expert in creating detailed use cases, acceptance criteria and driving product backlog
  • You have experience listening to customers and building user journey mapping tailors to specific use cases
  • You have a solid grasp of user experience and can write clear requirements that helps engineering teams to build & deliver
  • You must have a strong expertise in techniques and process to drive best-in-class user experience
  • You are a highly effective product manager, a strategic thinker with killer instinct and strong communication capabilities
  • You have experience with API management and interfacing with cloud native architectural components
  • You have experience with agile development methodologies and cloud delivery pipelines
  • You have experience with building cloud applications that can support millions of users and several millions of transactions in a week 
  • You have experience building cloud applications that can be delivered on standard web based interfaces and mobile web interfaces
  • You have experience with developing language localized and accessible web applications 

In accordance with applicable law, Fastly’s minimum base pay for this role if hired in Colorado is $169,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fastly's equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations. Note that this role is available to candidates outside of Colorado and different minimum compensation may apply.
