Due to Growth, we are in need of a Staff Project Manager 1! Come and join our dynamic group of Staff Project Managers at the Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Staff Project Manager 1 in the Huntsville, AL location. This position will be responsible for managing DoD projects and assisting our Sr. Program Manager and associated project managers with managing scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables of dynamic R&D projects. Must possess the ability to perform detail-oriented work, be a well-organized and dedicated individual to coordinate and execute program tasks within cross-functional team(s) and complete all activities within required deadlines. Staff Project Manager 1 manage multiple competing priorities, are a proactive problem solver, critical thinker, can work both independently and also as a team player.

Staff Project Manager 1 Requirements (Must-Haves):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical or business degree and 2+ yrs. experience, OR Degree Waived with 8-10 years of recent and relevant work experience working in DoD or industry acquisition activities.
  • 2+ years' experience as a DoD contractor
  • Project scheduling
  • Cross-functional team management and leadership
  • Tracking annual fiscal plans and monthly updates, maintenance, and reporting
  • Contract administration, accounting, reporting, purchasing, maintains contract budgets.
  • Prepares contract billing, estimates materials, equipment, production costs and delivery schedules.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Supporting teams working in manufacturing/industrial environments, which will require occasional pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping and must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense

Staff Project Manager 1 Preferred (Wish List):

  • Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
  • Project Management Professional certification or equivalent

Education:
