Staff Proteomics Market Segment Manager

This role can be based at any of our Europe Hubs, including UK, Nordics, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium

To be successful in this role, significant recent experience in proteomics is required. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in marketing within the life sciences sector and will demonstrate a deep understanding of the proteomics market and associated technologies. Additionally, the candidate should possess experience in genomics, multiomics, and large-scale genomic technologies, with a clear understanding of how these can be applied within the proteomics market. An understanding of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) is preferred but not essential.

Why You

As Proteomics Segment Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing market opportunities in the proteomics research, and translational research and industry environments. You will make assessment of the market dynamics, understanding customer requirements, and establishing relationships with stakeholders (3rd party companies, KOLs, research centres, government bodies, and internal Illumina resources) to establish and implement a go-to-market strategy for the Europe region.

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in marketing coming from a life sciences background with experience in the multiomics and proteomics field. You will have experience and an understanding of genomic technologies and how they can be utilized in the proteomics market. You will have experience and understanding of genome wide association studies and how they relate to proteomics in large cohorts.

You will be based in Europe and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

The Role

As Proteomics Segment Marketing Manager, you will be working with the European marketing communication team to establish compelling messaging and positioning for Illumina products and services in these markets, create awareness, generate demand, and enable the sales team through guidance, tools and training. To excel in this position, it is necessary to have a profound understanding of proteomics and its applications.

Responsibilities

  • Primary regional point of contact for utilization of Illumina technologies in proteomics, facilitating inbound and outbound communication, and ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders. 
  • Solicit and consolidate input from customers and field staff within the region to provide in-depth market analysis and insight regarding customer and market needs, issues and opportunities. 
  • Develop a set of sales enablement tools and assist sales teams by providing guidance for product messaging and positioning and identifying target customers. 
  • Assess training needs and coordinate training opportunities across the region. 
  • Own regional strategic plan and its execution of proteomics key market focus, product launches, and to plan and execute other marketing communications, events and promotional activities. 
  • Execute regionally on partnerships and co-marketing agreement in the proteomics field.
  • Provide market information and analysis to the European directors/managers and Global Product Managers on a regular basis (monthly and/or quarterly). 
  • Proactively identify and enhance opportunities to improve customer satisfaction with Illumina’s products through sound technical, product and application knowledge. 
  • Coordinate local collaborations and proof-of-principle studies to generate proof statements and customer advocates for our technologies.
  • Identify and target potential customers within the field of academia and industry to promote and market the proteomics product portfolio. 
  •  Provide technical presentations with the support of field application scientists both internally and to external stakeholders to demonstrate Illumina’s proteomic solution.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with clients, prospective customers and KOL’s.
