Job Description:

• Research and development of pruning algorithms to reduce size and cost efficiency of Deep Neural networks used in improving picture quality in Samsung televisions.
• Develop blur estimation model in an image using classical image processing techniques. Improve prediction of rescale and jpeg compression value using novel tile selection pipeline.
• Lead a research team in developing highly advanced video algorithms to differentiate Samsung’s 8K TV products.
• Work with stakeholders, management and create research topics; partner with product teams and develop project plans.
• Either individually or through team, generate IP for Samsung, and publish research work externally.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related.
• Applicants must have 2 years of experience in the following: (1) Deep Learning including Convolutional Neural Networks, Back propagation, and Optimization; (2) Image processing including filtering techniques and color space and image quality; (3) Computer Vision including Feature Extraction; (4) Python and MATLAB; (5) Pytorch Framework; (6) Natural Language Processing; (7) object detection, data drift estimation, model performance calibration, and active learning; and (8) Noise reduction using machine learning/deep learning networks.

Compensation for this role is expected to be between $102,544 and $155,850 but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
