Position Summary

The Staff Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Engineer position will be a part of the GIS Automation Product team developing and supporting new automations with lines of Business across all of Illumina. The role's responsibilities include the development and support of automations with all lines of business and expertise on best practices for RPA. The area of focus is both functional and technical which will include business process analysis, RPA platform management, RPA development, application integrations, business user support, and solving complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Provision, manage, and support RPA environments
  • Develop and support RPA automations and use cases with various lines of business to simplify tasks allowing users to do their jobs effectively
  • Deliver end-to-end services for requested automations including: requirements gathering, design, development, integrations, testing, deployment, and on-going support
  • Point of contact for Internal Escalations associated to RPA use cases
  • General to Complex technology support including upgrades, patches, projects, sustaining issues, and root cause analysis of issues
  • Develop, update, and implement policies/procedures to maintain best practices across the RPA team's portfolio
  • Partner with Automation Product Manager and other IT resources in the overall strategy, design, operation, and continual improvement of automations
  • Establish connectors/connectivity to different platforms
  • Establish GIT versioning and code branches
  • Monitor performance of VM's and Bots

Requirements

  • Strong technical and functional experience with RPA: hands on application development, platform administration, configurations, integrations, enhancements, and project work
  • Experience in a fast-paced, global, corporate environment including the ability to manage expectations and facilitate prioritization efforts
  • Ability to translate existing manual processes into an automated process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills within a global workforce
  • Strong technical experience with hands on RPA application platform management and development tools such as UiPath
  • Database experience with the following platforms Snowflake, SQL Server, Mongo, and MySQL a plus
  • Prior experience and knowledge of the O365 suite including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, Azure, etc a plus
  • API and scripting experience a must
  • Change control experience in an FDA regulated environment a plus

Experience/Education

  • Typically requires 8+ years of Information Technology and development related experience, 5 years of hands on experience with RPA tools including bot development and administration desired, with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $105,300 - $157,900. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
