As a Staff Scientist, bioinformatics you will be a core member of a team of data scientists and engineers building a powerful computational platform for advancing the research and development of new medicines. You will help us design and develop our biological data infrastructure, including integration of OMICs data from diverse sources into our Data Platform, and participation in the building of our Knowledge Graph. Successful candidates will work with a diverse set of scientists, entrepreneurs, and domain experts in ways that cut across traditional industry boundaries.

• Design and implement data models to organize and store OMICs data into our Data Platform (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and others)
• Contribute to the design and implementation of the data source backend for our Knowledge Graph
• Design, implement, and initially run data ingestion pipelines for OMICs data
• Bioinformatics data engineering

• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Experience with OMICs data processing
• Experience with collaborative development using source control management (Git/GitLab)
• Experience with best practices and testing methodologies for data pipeline
• Experience with data processing and ETL task workflow systems (Airflow or Prefect a plus)
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Snowflake infrastructure (Snowpipe, Snowpark, etc.) a plus
• Experience with Spark/pyspark a plus
• Experience with network biology or graph-based approaches to computational biology a plus

Base Salary: $175,000 to $205,500
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated annual base salary range for the San Francisco based position. The actual annual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and if the location of the job changes.
