Staff Software Architect

We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Architect to work closely with stakeholders, both business and software engineering, as well as internal and external customers, to provide technical guidance and design robust software solutions for customer facing software solutions as well as applications running in 24x7 manufacturing production lines.

What You’ll Be Doing:

● Collaborate with technical and business teams on eCommerce application, API
framework, B2B integrations, and MES/LIMS application to evaluate, identify, and
develop software solutions
● Participate in requirements gathering, technical specification, design, architecture, and development of software applications
● Create design and architecture specifications for software solutions
● Rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept software applications
● Serve as the subject matter expert for key software applications and solutions
● Identify issues with code or design
● Help establish and promote software engineering patterns, code reuse, and best practices
● Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
● 10+ years of experience delivering commercial cloud-based software applications
● 8+ years of technical leadership and architecture experience
● Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to write clean maintainable code 
● Extensive experience in software development
● Experience as a technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle
● Experience architecting and scaling mission critical distributed systems and solved technical challenges with rapidly growing software systems
● Expertise in multiple programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#
● Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL
● Experience with cloud-based development using AWS including Lambda applications

● Experience with Message Queuing frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
● Experience working with geographically dispersed software development teams
● Solid knowledge of modern software technologies and practices including microservices, CI/CD, and container-based technologies
● Solid knowledge of REST API development
● Solid understanding of a variety of development tools and platforms
● Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment
● Have familiarity with MES or LIMS systems
● Have familiarity with Business Applications such as Salesforce.com and SAP
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Agile/SCRUM experience
