What You Bring to Parsyl
You will lead a software team to design, build, and maintain tooling to help create a best-in-class experience for cargo insurance customers. As the technical leader of the team, you will partner with our product and design team to work with stakeholders across the company, understand customer problems, and identify the best solutions to deliver value quickly and iteratively. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on a growing portion of the business.
You are a good addition to Parsyl if you are passionate about API design, highly collaborative and communicative with other engineers and product management, and motivated to deliver on our mission. You should also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, eager to continually learn, and willing to pitch in throughout the technology team.
Technologies Used by the Team
- Go, AWS Lambda, S3, Athena, API Gateway, RDS (Postgres), Terraform
- Javascript (Vue.js)
What you'll get to work on:
- Work with product and design to understand and identify the best solutions to customer problems
- Lead the technical design, execution and evolution of our insurance applications
- Lead day-to-day engineering activities of projects and mentoring junior engineers
- Support other members of the team in executing their work
- Collaborate with other engineers and contribute to a new backend architecture
- Collaborate with data teams
- Design and manage API documentation
Requirements

What we're looking for:
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including using backend and API architectural best practices
- Experience with programming using Golang
- Ability to develop within AWS or other cloud providers
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Comfortable in fast-paced environment with Agile values
- Excellent communication skills across cross-functional teams

It's a bonus if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree or educational coursework in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field.
- Experience working within the supply chain and logistics industry.
- Experience building customer or partner-facing API solutions
- Experience with frontend development
Benefits
Market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of $150,000-$170,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills.
