Staff Software Engineer 2

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) Engineering Science Division is seeking a Staff Software Engineer 2 to support engineering and scientific research, development, testing, studies, and related activities in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

As a Staff Software Engineer 2 you will perform advanced computer/software program and systems engineering primarily with respect to computer functional allocations, software development, and hardware development. Serve as computer programmer/analyst, perform development and application of computer software, data analysis, and data processing. Knowledgeable in government ADP standards, polices, modern communications networks, operating systems World Wide Web applications, and high-level computer languages. Must have ability to expand existing software to meeting changing requirements. Focus on creating fault-tolerant programming. Ability to create scalable, automated solutions. Establish multi-platform versions of software packages. Perform software or computer engineering analyses and interface with security related systems to determine potential for further development, production, and interface to other systems, and usefulness in the intended environment. Requires moderate supervision.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer, software, electrical engineering, mathematics, or related field and have at least 6 or more years of experience, OR
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer, software, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience in software of database development demonstrated by the ability to perform software system and database analysis, monitor software development standards and write software development assessments.
• Experience with Java, Python, C++, and other programming languages preferred.
• Good written and oral communications skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Requires Secret Security Clearance or higher and DHS Suitability.

This position is onsite in Atlantic City, New Jersey and contingent upon award of a contract expected in 2023.
