Galileo Financial Technologies, LLC seeks Staff Software Engineer in Seattle, WA:
Job Duties: Lead the development and testing of our systems and services. Write, test, and deploy
efficient, scalable code to production that impacts millions of individuals. Ensure that our codebase
remains easy to change and is always shippable. Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the
product. Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment. Generate ideas for
new initiatives and technologies. Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow
the team. Communicate and collaborate with product and design. Telecommuting is an option.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and three (3) years of experience in the field
of software engineering/program analysis or three (3) years of experience in the job offered OR
Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a
related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of
software engineering/program analysis or five (5) years of experience in the job offered.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK; (2) AWS Compute services - AWS
EC2, Lambda and ECS; (3) AWS Storage - AWS DynamoDB and S3; (5) AWS SQS; (6) AWS SNS; (7) AWS
Step-Functions; (8) Monitoring production applications using AWS CloudWatch and similar monitoring
software; (9) AWS ECR; (10) AWS Networking - VPC, Private Links, Route 53; (11) Docker; (12) REST; (13)
Java; (14) CI/CD pipelines for backend services; (15) Designing, building and maintaining scalable
backend API services; (16) Tomcat; and (17) Guice. Any suitable combination of education, training
and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option.
