We create novel hardware, software, and analysis tools for producers to understand the factors that produce more nutritious food and for buyers to know the nutritional quality of the food they buy. We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing software team. You will work alongside leadership to design and build scalable, high-performance software. As a key team member, you will help build the company and culture from the ground up and help bring our product to market.

You Will:

• Work with modern, well tested software with limited technical debt
• Develop high-performance, scalable systems using TypeScript, Python, Postgres, Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Collaborate with internal teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Improve the development process through the use of best practices and new technologies

You Have:

• 7+ years of experience in software development
• Experience with TypeScript, Node.js and/or Python, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Experience building scalable, high-performance systems
• Experience with system design principles and best practices
• A passion for testing
• Team lead or other leadership experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Must be U.S. based

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Next.js or Remix, Django, Postgres, Terraform, ArgoCD, and Snowflake
• Experience building data pipelines
• Experience with relational and non-relational database design
• Startup experience

The Benefits:

• Salary: $170,000-$220,000 depending on qualifications, experience, and equity
• Equity: 0.2 - 0.5%, depending on qualifications, experience, and salary
