Staff Software Engineer, Core Platform

In this role, you will help design and evolve the foundational platform that powers large-scale telemetry and data processing systems used by enterprise customers worldwide. You will work on highly distributed, real-time systems that ingest, transform, and route massive data sets while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. This is a senior-level engineering position with significant technical ownership, where you will influence architecture decisions and shape core platform capabilities. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and designers in a fast-moving, remote-first environment. The role blends hands-on development with technical leadership, mentorship, and systems thinking. You will also contribute to improving engineering practices and internal tools as the platform continues to grow and scale.

• Provide technical leadership for backend systems and APIs responsible for large-scale data ingestion, processing, and routing.
• Participate in architecture design discussions and code reviews to ensure scalable and robust system design.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, performant, and reliable distributed systems.
• Build and maintain comprehensive automated test coverage and robust test strategies.
• Mentor and support junior engineers in technical growth and implementation best practices.
• Contribute to internal and external technical knowledge sharing, including documentation and blogs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support production systems as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and development efficiency.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including work on large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, React, and cloud-based service development.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system principles.
• Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs in production environments.
• Strong ownership mindset with focus on high-quality, scalable, and maintainable systems.
• Experience working in Agile, iterative development environments.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and learn new technologies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and product teams.
• Experience with high-volume data systems and telemetry or infrastructure platforms is highly desirable.
• Must be eligible to meet U.S. government security requirements for FedRAMP access (may require U.S. citizenship).
