This position will report to our Manager, Privacy & Security Engineering and can be based in our Carpinteria, CA headquarters, Austin, TX office, or work remotely from any US location. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Establish standards for development teams and lead initiatives in collaboration with Product, Quality Assurance, User Experience, and other internal groups 
• Use a customer-centric approach to lead design decisions that improve scalability and performance
• Develop fellow teammates by conducting code reviews, providing mentorship, pairing, and training opportunities
• Leverage our tech stack: Ruby/Rails/Postgres running in AWS on the back end, and React/JavaScript on the front end. Our mobile apps provide access to many of Procore’s tools on iOS and Android, and we also make plug-ins and utilities to extend the functionality of Procore on Windows devices
• Build, maintain, and develop a wide series of microservices and are looking for engineers adept at discovering new opportunities and driving them to completion.
• Drive key security projects that will improve Procore’s competitive advantage for Enterprise-class customers: Auth at the Edge, Multi-Factor Authentication, and App authentication and permissions

What we're looking for: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience
• 7+ years experience in Object Oriented Programming fundamentals, Test Driven Development, and Design principles (Ruby on Rails). Other languages such as Python, C++, or Java are a plus.
• Understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product goals, and are adept at formulating solutions that satisfy all of these needs
• Experience in working with asynchronous requests in large scale applications 
• Experience in working and developing RESTful APIs 
• Experience leading large initiatives with the ability to course-correct as needed
• Proven expertise with modern web development including development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring
• Ability to consistently evaluate current technical approaches to continue to be industry best-of-class
• Expertise with authentication methods including SAML, OAUTH2, MFA, FIDO
• Expertise with token handling (OAUTH, Session)
