BILL is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our AIR team (Analytics, Insights, & Reporting).  This team is focused on building and enhancing the BILL reporting capabilities for our customers, in order to give them better insights to help them manage their finances.  As a Staff engineer, this role will be focused on leading different projects and initiatives related to integrating our existing BILL reports with those of our other product lines (Divvy, Invoice2go, Finmark), as well as building out new reporting capabilities moving forward.

We’d love to chat if you have:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, or closely related field
• 8+ years of software development experience 
• Ability to lead a team of developers in building complex software solutions
• Proven ability to take the product through all stages of development from concept to launch
• Expertise with all aspects of SDLC including code reviews, unit testing, automation testing and CI/CD
• Experience with building APIs as well as consuming third party APIs (GraphQL, REST APIs)
• Experience with system design
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, SQL and NoSQL databases
• Expertise in making step-function improvements in performance and scale of platforms
• Business acumen - able to leverage the platform to solve business problems
• Passion for great products and building great customer experiences

Nice to Have:

• Expertise with using AWS services to build microservices
• Familiar with frontend development with React and Angular
• Experience with dev tools like Splunk, Datadog, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly etc.
• Accounting domain knowledge
