STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER - Cloud and Infrastructure Networking Team
Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
• Participate in the design and development of network system software and architecture. Provide functional and design specifications for features.
• Implement software algorithms and code efficiently in the C/C++ programming environment with multi-threading, multi-core, and real-time embedded high availability operating system such as Linux, RTOS or similar OS.
• Unit test and debug code as necessary to ensure implementation correctness and quality. Document code appropriately with comments and work with the product documentation team to develop and review user documentation.
• Use a source control system such as CVS to store developed code. Maintain existing features and code. Contribute to investigating and developing new technologies, as relevant to the progress of the company's products.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and provide technical guidance and expertise as necessary.
• Work closely with the software quality assurance team to develop test cases for the developed features and address issues found by them.
• Provide engineering support to the technical support team to address any customer reported issues. Mentor junior team members and help them with assigned projects in all areas of software development.
• Participate and lead in software development projects that provide infrastructure for both control plane and data plane applications in a high performance data networking device.
• Participate and lead in software development projects that support multiple hardware platforms. Participate and lead in architecture discussions and planning with software development.
• Write design documents and unit test plans for software projects. Communicate with team members and report weekly on project progress.
• Apply experience in L2 switching Technologies (MAC tables, VLAN technology) and Layer-3 forwarding (ARP, IPv4 and IPv6 table management and forwarding) in Ethernet networks, Experience in/knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 protocol technologies, Experience in Layer-3 Routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP4+, and detection protocols such as BFD, Experience in/knowledge of high availability protocols such as VRRP, Experience in/knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Socket Programming and common standard IP protocols such as ICMP, Experience in/knowledge of Virtualization and Overlay technologies such as Multi-tenancy, VxLAN, NVGRE, Experience in/knowledge of MPLS protocols such as RSVP/LDP, and Experience in/knowledge of L4-7 technologies such as NAT, SLB, to contribute to advancing company's product/technology.

Requirements:

• Education: Require Master's degree in CS/EE/CE field with 3+ years of experience. Alternate would be: bachelor's degree in CS/EE/CE field with 5+ years of experience.
• Requires experience with or knowledge of (can be gained concurrently with experience requirements):
• C or C++ programming skills with knowledge in development with Linux, RTOS or similar real-time high availability Embedded Operating Systems
• L2 switching Technologies (MAC tables, VLAN technology) and L3 forwarding (ARP, IPv4 and IPv6 table management and forwarding) in Ethernet networks
• IPv4 and IPv6 protocol technologies
• Layer-3 Routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP4+, and detection protocols such as BFD
• Multi-threading, multi-core, and real-time high availability embedded operating systems
• TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Socket Programming and common standard IP protocols such as ICMP
• High availability systems and protocols such as VRRP
• Experience with or Knowledge of Kubernetes and Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI, etc
• Control plane and data plane architecture in networking devices
• Source Control System tools such as CVS/SVN/Git to develop code

Alternate Requirements:Source Bachelor of Science or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering or related field, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in the job offered, or a related occupation.Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
