Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack)

The Staff Software Engineer at Black Airplane will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of our clients' products. This individual will contribute significantly to our ongoing success by driving key architectural decisions, enhancing the productivity of other engineers, managing complex projects, providing strategic and technical project leadership, mentoring various levels, and influencing team and department strategies.

This is a full-time, remote position (US only).

Requirements

• Lead the development of core frontend architectural strategies, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of assigned projects.
• Demonstrate a proven ability to develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade software.
• Provide expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Promote a positive and inclusive working environment, fostering professional relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the engineering team and agile product team to refine processes, tools, and workflows, thereby enhancing team efficiency and productivity.
• Demonstrated experience in senior strategy roles within an agency or product company, with a history of achieving tangible results.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct oversight.
• Strong appreciation for human-centered design and exceptional customer experiences, coupled with a history of collaboration with creative teams.
• Proven experience in mentoring, leading technical initiatives, or managing engineering teams.
• Consistent delivery of high-quality work with a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• 6-8+ years of experience in developing software solutions for the web, supported by a portfolio of successful product launches.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with React.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with TypeScript.
• Comprehensive knowledge of database architecture and design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a diverse audience.

Black Airplane is a fully remote friendly environment. Work location is flexible if approved by Black Airplane, except that the position may not be performed remotely from AK, CA, HI, MA, NY, OR, PA, WA, or outside of the United States.
