Are you a passionate and experienced software engineer looking to make a significant impact? Join our Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) team at Workiva as a Staff Software Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management for our customers. In this role, you'll specifically contribute to the development of our GRC product suite and help organizations streamline their governance processes.


As a Staff Software Engineer on our GRC team, you'll have the opportunity to deliver solutions that enable our customers to effectively manage their compliance and risk-related activities. Your work will have a direct impact on our platform's capabilities, empowering organizations to mitigate risks, adhere to regulations, and enhance their governance practices.

What You’ll Do 

  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand their GRC needs, feedback, and requirements. 

  • Work closely with the Product Manager to drive the development and enhancement of our GRC product suite, ensuring it meets the expectations and goals of our customers. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend solutions, supporting critical compliance and risk management functionalities. 

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to develop intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, enabling customers to interact seamlessly with our GRC platform. 

  • Engage with customers and partners, gathering feedback and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. 

  • Contribute to the overall architecture, design, and code quality of our GRC solutions.

What You’ll Need 

  • 6+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of experience with a Master's Degree. 

  • Strong mentorship experience.

  • Extensive experience in full stack development, with a strong focus on technologies such as Kotlin, React, and Dart.

  • Proficiency in frontend development to build intuitive and responsive user interfaces. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to architect and implement scalable software solutions. 

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric mindset to effectively collaborate with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. 

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

How You’ll Be Rewarded:

  • Salary range in the US: 
$120,000.00 - $204,000.00
  • A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
  • Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
  • 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
