Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

ยท Focus on multiple areas and provide technical and thought leadership to the enterprise

ยท Develop and execute technical software development strategy for a variety of domains

ยท Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions

ยท Influence and educate leadership at all levels

ยท Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams

ยท Analyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plans

ยท Determine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, and demonstrate adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning

ยท Oversee efficient certificate lifecycle management, including issuance, renewal, and revocation, while optimizing overall processes

ยท Collaborate with application team to implement tokenization solutions that reduce sensitive data exposure, thereby enhancing data security and minimizing the risk of unauthorized access

ยท Stay at the forefront of emerging identity trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance GEICOโ€™s data protection strategies

ยท Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvements

ยท Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, compliance, and application teams to ensure the seamless integration and alignment of solutions with organizational goals

ยท Build resilient and scalable architecture, driving innovation and cost efficiency

ย 

Qualifications

ยท Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production

ยท Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code

ยท In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms

ยท Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches

ยท Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

ยท Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)

ยท Experience with micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs

ยท Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems

ยท Fluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework

ยท Experience in leveraging PowerShell scripting

ยท Experience in existing Operational Portals such as Azure Portal

ยท In depth knowledge of Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform, and its native services including the Azure platform and its native services

ยท Experience in security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth

ยท Experience in Azure Network (Subscription, Security zoning, etc.)

ยท Fluency and specialization with at least one modern language such as Java, Go, or Rust

ยท In depth expertise in cryptographic protocols, digital certificates, and encryption standards such as X.509, Transport Layer Security (TLS), and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)

ยท Demonstrated ability to design and implement resilient, scalable, and efficient solutions

ยท Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities

ยท Excellent communication skills, able to communicate complete technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

ย 

Experience

ยท 6+ years of professional experience in technology or identity engineering

ยท 2+ years of experience with security, identity, architecture, and design

ยท 5+ years of experience with open-source frameworks is desired

ยท 6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

ย 

Education

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience


ย 

Annual Salary

$115,000.00 - $230,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidateโ€™s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
