Staff Software Engineer - iOS

About the Role

As platform Engineer in Foundations team , this is a high impact role where you will drive bottom's up engineering culture , interface with many teams at Uber to deliver on core platform level iOS capabilities . The role requires strong communication, leadership and strong technical acumen.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned engineer and strong collaborator to work on core Uber Rider platform

• Innovate and Architect: Design and architect robust, high-performance iOS libraries and frameworks. Your solutions will set new benchmarks for reliability and efficiency.
• Observability and Reliability: Implement advanced observability solutions to ensure our apps perform optimally. Proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain high reliability and seamless user experiences.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Lead technical initiatives and mentor a team of talented engineers. Share your expertise through engineering blog posts, tech talks, and fostering a culture of continuous innovation.
• Visibility and Impact: Participate in high-visibility projects directly influencing Uber's global user base. Your contributions will be critical to our mission of redefining urban mobility.

• Experience: 8+ years of software development experience with a focus on iOS.
• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C, with extensive experience in SwiftUI and iOS frameworks. A strong understanding of architecture and best practices in mobile development.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical skills to solve complex, high-scale technical challenges. Experience in building scalable and reliable systems.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and drive a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Communication: Excellent collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts.
