Staff Software Engineer

This is a high-impact engineering role where you will shape the technical direction and architecture of web, mobile, and backend systems. You will be responsible for elevating the quality, scalability, and velocity of development while mentoring senior engineers and influencing cross-functional teams. Working at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, you will deliver polished and performant user experiences that directly affect acquisition, onboarding, and retention. • Define long-term technical strategy and align team initiatives with business-impacting projects
• Lead architectural decisions and ensure sustainable, scalable, and maintainable systems
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics teams to prioritize technical trade-offs and risks
• Act as a force-multiplier by guiding technical solutions, code quality standards, and operational processes
• Ensure team operations, monitoring, alerting, and on-call readiness with clear playbooks and policies
• Mentor and develop senior engineers, providing feedback and guidance to elevate team capabilities
• Promote a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer with a proven track record of delivering large-scale systems
• Expertise in backend development with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Strong experience in building web applications using declarative frameworks like React, React Native, or Vue
• Demonstrated ability to deliver major features, system components, or deprecate functionality through clear technical plans
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity and understanding systems from low-level code to high-level architecture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with global engineering teams
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical strategy with measurable impact
