We are looking for passionate software engineers for our team in Hungary for the development of Streaming Analytics products of Cloudera (featuring Flink, SQL Stream Builder and several other components related to stream processing). Flink is a general purpose distributed data processing technology designed for low latency, high throughput, massive scalability and high reliability. SQL Stream Builder provides our customers with a powerful, SQL oriented interface to develop and deploy large-scale stream processing jobs executed on Flink.

As a software engineer, you will be collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders in Hungary, the United States and other countries around the globe.

As a Staff Software Engineer you will:

• Lead projects to design, implement and test new features and improvements of the Cloudera Streaming Analytics product suite

• Work in a cross-functional software development team covering all aspects of software product delivery

• Work with product management, engineering, UX, and documentation teams to deliver high-quality products.

• Support our field team and customers to help product adoption and implement their use cases smoothly.

• Enable, mentor and guide other team members to deliver high-quality software

We are excited about you if you have:

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience 

• Have at least 6 years of experience in designing and building scalable, robust distributed software systems

• Strong Java skills and proficiency with the whole Java ecosystem

• Proficiency in using SQL

• Experience with containerization orchestration technologies: Kubernetes, Docker.

• Strong understanding of the software design/architecture process 

• Experience with delivery pipeline tools, CI/CD solutions, automated testing

• Self-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship

• Strong written and verbal English and communication skills

You may also have:

• Experience with Apache Flink, Spark and/or Kafka

• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience with PythonExperience with Javascript
