The Unity Editor and its pervasive runtime engine powers the creation and publication of real-time digital content in over 190 countries worldwide. With more than 5 billion downloads per month supporting Video Games to Film, Automotive to Construction, all while supporting a large array of 25+ digital platforms. The User Profile Experience team sits at the center of Unity, providing Authentication, Login, Licensing, and Financial services to all products that enable our customers to quickly engage with the content, projects, and software tools they love. Our organization is looking for a highly collaborative and seasoned software engineer to work with our team in Bellevue on these core systems and infrastructure.

While reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will engage with Unity’s global development teams to identify and act on areas to increase developer productivity, review technical plans and architecture, write technical design documents, and act as an engineering guide for individual contributor engineers.

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for enumerating, understanding, and detailing the composition of engineering systems using first-hand analysis of source code, systems, data, and prototyping
• Navigating the internal Unity engineering ecosystem through partnership and collaboration
• Actively seek out alignment with leadership to align, guide, and craft the future of Unity’s technology horizon
• Participating in regular architecture reviews

What we’re looking for

• Deep experience building production software with Java, Golang, and Node.js
• Expertise with CI/CD systems deploying code to production cloud environments
• Senior technical experience working across different teams and projects
• Demonstrable experience with software architecture and API design
• Broad knowledge of architecting systems across multiple platforms, devices, and ecosystems at scale
