Checkr is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join Checkr X, our innovation program aimed at finding and bringing to market new product bets for Checkr. This team is specifically thinking about People infrastructure for the future of work, beyond background checks. It’s also designed to operate and iterate quickly like a new startup, while being able to leverage our existing strengths and assets from our core business. We are specifically hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer for Checkr Pay - our bet in the payments space. Checkr Pay is a full-service payments platform for the gig economy. Checkr Pay allows gig platforms to pay their workforce instantly, seconds after completing a job - at no cost to the platform or the worker. Our core product is a digital wallet experience, including a free Visa debit card, that is embedded directly in gig platform apps/websites. This product supports a seamless onboarding flow for new workers, improving conversion by as much as 30%. Our embedded instant pay solution is the core platform on which we are building a new financial ecosystem for the gig economy, which moves the needle on financial inclusion for the unbanked and underbanked. This ecosystem includes rewards, benefits, fraud prevention, new financial products, and more. This Solutions Engineer will be responsible for working with our most complex prospects to design and develop unique solutions that enhance their current earner payouts process. A Solutions Engineer at Checkr Pay needs to be an experienced problem solver with a background in Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Technical Account Management, Client Consulting, and understand how technology delivers business value. You will be responsible for providing pre-sales support for our most valuable prospects and partners in our strategic account segment.

What you’ll do

As a Solutions Engineer, you will strategically partner with the Checkr Pay Sales Team to:

  • Meet with business leaders at prospect companies to understand their business goals and articulate Checkr Pay’s value proposition

  • Meet with stakeholders across the organization, from C-Level executives to frontline employees and tailor your messaging to these audiences

  • Shape value creation for our clients through presentations, case studies, product demonstrations, pilots, solution designs, and proposals

  • Educate our prospective clients on safe hiring best practices, explaining how other Checkr Pay customers have approached obstacles and challenges, and generally serving as the trust & safety experts during sales cycles

  • Answer technical and compliance questions from our prospects and partners 

  • Distill and communicate customer needs to the Product team and help drive product roadmap

  • Collaborate with Marketing on Case Studies, Use Cases and Marketing Events

What you bring

  • 2-5 years in related industry or SAAS

  • Experience working at a high growth startup, ideally in the fintech space

  • Mastery of the technical sales process, solution design, and proof of value execution

  • Expertise in discovery conversations, value-based selling, and world class demonstration and storytelling skills

  • Technical curiosity and knowledge of RESTful APIs or willingness to learn

  • Experience building rapport and working with cross functional teams spanning sales, product management, product marketing and business development 

  • Ability to juggle and complete multiple priorities and projects (both internal and external) in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The salary range for this role is $93,748 to $195,132.

*The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with Colorado law, the base salary for this role if filled within Colorado is $122,593 to $144,228.
