Job Description

Join our team of IT professionals providing support to a large group of software developers and engineers. Our IT support staff are valued members of the team tasked with work that is critical to the success of our projects.

In this position, you will perform System Administration duties in support of ARA staff and projects. You will need to be close to the Washington, DC area so that you can provide local support to several ARA offices there as needed. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to WFH several days of the week as well.

You will maintain data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a domain of computers and servers. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required, and responds to management requests for information. Preferred Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and two to four years of related experience.

Staff Systems Administrator Position Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship is required along with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • High School Diploma with 8-10 years of experience
  • Intermediate knowledge, Systems Administration
  • Intermediate knowledge, Linux/Unix
  • Intermediate knowledge, virtual systems
  • Intermediate knowledge, Windows Server management
  • Experience supporting an enterprise backup system
  • Experience supporting an enterprise storage solution
  • Good oral & written communication skills
  • Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team & department performance

Staff Systems Administrator Position Preferences:

  • BS degree with 2-4 years of experience
  • PowerShell experience
  • Web server management
  • Microsoft or equivalent certification
  • VMWare or equivalent certification
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, problem solver

Team Information:

The successful applicant will become a member of an IT Support team that provides IT support to several divisions within ARA. The local IT Support team supports approximately 800 users, in addition to providing secure computing support directly to government contracts.
