BD is seeking a Staff Technical Project Manager to lead the security planning and implementation process for software development. The ideal candidate has strong experience operationalizing secure engineering operations within an enterprise software development organization, including ongoing support of government contracts and DISA STIGs.
Responsibilities:
- Provider leadership and expertise for operationalizing secure engineering operations for software development
- Ability to plan, lead, and drive the execution of large, complex, multi-organizational initiatives
- Create organization and structure from ambiguity
- Manage and track security related deliverables to completion
- Early identification of project risks and aggressive pursuit of mitigations
- Create, document, and implement processes that integrate security standard methodologies into the product planning and development process, including ongoing management of STIG reviews, POA&Ms, and security vulnerabilities
- Create and run dashboards in JIRA, TFS, and other tools to track progress and create clarity for stakeholders
- Report regular status updates to the executive leadership team
- Coach and train associates on new security processes
- Evangelize standard methodologies for security operations and cultivate a community of practice that promotes secure engineering
- Guide software development teams and other stakeholders on using agile and lean principles
- Lead retrospectives to solicit feedback and promote continuous improvement
- Remove impediments
- Aid in early identification and communication of risks and issues
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience creating Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) and tracking engineering responsibilities to timely completion
- Experience operationalizing vulnerability and POAM management into the software development lifecycle
- Experience with application of government security findings and translating to software/system requirements
- Ability to coach teams on agile practices and ensure adherence to agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively deliver complex messages and teach new concepts
- Ability to quickly analyze and resolve conflicts - strong mediator
- Brings a high-energy and hard-working outlook to the job and can influence others
- Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field
- 5-7 proven experience in Agile software development
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in secure engineering operations
- Experience with implementation of STIGs and POA&Ms required
- Experience with software development in a regulated field preferred

Salary Range Information
$104,900.00 - $173,000.00
