The Staff Test Engineer/Test Automation Architect for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading the software systems verification strategies for Hematology software engineering. As a Staff Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the Design, Development, and maintenance of the entire automated testing infrastructure, including the development of Emulators/Simulators. Lead the overarching and long-term improvement of the organization's testing processes, technical capabilities, and execution. This role is also responsible for defining the roadmap for implementing structured software testing methodologies for Functional, Integration, Regression, End-to-End, and Performance testing (Load, Stress, Spike, Endurance).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide subject-matter expertise, best practices, and strategic direction for software Verification solutions for Medical Device's New Product Development (NPD) & Sustaining Engineering.
  • Design and develop the entire test automation infrastructure from the ground up for a sophisticated medical device system of systems.
  • Apply industry best practice standards for manual and automation testing across the Hematology products.
  • Demonstrating full accountability for defining Test Management Infrastructure (people, process, technology) to facilitate and support all testing efforts throughout the product life cycle, including developing technical plans for all projects to test early, test strategically, test continuously, and test visibly.
  • Lead the design, writing, and execution of product verification test plans, protocols, and reports for Firmware, API, Integration, and end-to-end testing of systems and subsystems.
  • Create software programs and algorithms (Emulator & Simulators) to support automated test procedures.
  • Design and help build test metrics and reporting standards; design and help build analytics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to monitor software quality.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Math, Statistics, Engineering, or related scientific discipline).
  • 15+ years of test engineering/automation experience in testing software, firmware, hardware, and integrated systems.
  • Must have led the verification testing of at least one product development effort from inception through market launch.
  • Manual and Automated Testing experience with automated testing programming skills (Python, C/C++, Java, or other high-level language is acceptable).
  • Have proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD-related technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration and management

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Exposure to medical device compliance standards (such as ISO13485/IEC62304/HIPAA /FDA/Security Standards/Data Privacy).
  • Demonstrate ability to understand system dependencies and architecture quickly.
  • Very strong knowledge of Git.
  • Solid foundation of software testing.
  • Experience in the medical device testing industry.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans and Pipelines.
  • Experience in setting up agent-based test execution machines.
