STARS Systems Director

We are seeking a Systems Director to join our team in STARS, one of the premier facilities at The Aerospace Corporation, providing launch telemetry processing, display and analysis capabilities, full-duplex multi-channel voice services and video monitoring for National Security Space missions. As an integral part of the space launch operations model for the US Space Force's Assured Access to Space (AATS) organization, STARS provides technical reach-back for issues that arise during the countdown, participates in tests and rehearsals, and operates and maintains critical technical computing capabilities for NSS launch operations. In this role, you will be providing launch operations services and capabilities to hundreds of Aerospace program office, US Space Force personnel and ETG engineers supporting NSS launch operations, and you will deploy new analytical capabilities in a cloud computing environment.
Work Model: This position will be located 80% onsite
What You'll Be Doing
- You will provide launch operations services and capabilities to hundreds of Aerospace program office and ETG engineers supporting NSS launch operations.
- Operate and maintain facilities, technical computing capabilities, voice, video and other services to over 100 users during NSS launch operations.
- Lead an organization of program office and ETG engineers in the development and operations of launch operations capabilities.
- Deploy innovative analytical capabilities in a new cloud computing environment.
- Seek more efficient and effective operational models across the STARS enterprise.
- Conduct tours and participate in corporate STEM activities.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited program in engineering or technical computing field. Masters is preferred.
- 12 years of related experience in engineering or technical computing
- Experience in launch or satellite operations
- Advanced knowledge of technical computing systems
- Familiarity with Audio & video distribution
- Some travel to Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg SFBs is expected
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$122,952 - $202,011 - $281,070
Pay Basis: Annual
