Our organization is seeking an experienced, dynamic leader as the State Director (remote) to oversee Clinical and Operational functions for all programs within the State, ensuring delivery of effective, efficient, and high quality services to members. This individual oversees the counseling and growth teams, and ensures routine communication with Better Life Partners Community Health Manager in order to best operationalize meeting coordination within the State. As well, you will work with the State Medical Director to support all medical initiatives..

Responsibilities for the State Director include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners
  • Ensure daily clinical operations/services are completed and accurate (meetings, CA’s, 1:1’s, etc.)
  • Coordinate care services with Central to ensure appropriate/comprehensive communication for quality overview for member care
  • Identify service needs throughout the State; plan, develop and implement programs to meet those needs.
  • Participate in the creation and/or ongoing revision of the strategic growth plan for the State and ensure its execution
  • Seek opportunities and participate in the development of grants and program proposals in response to RFP’s, services requests and/or identified community needs that are aligned with BLP’s mission
  • Participate in the development of the annual State budget and ensure programs are financially viable
  • Directly or delegate the hiring, training and supervision of all counseling, growth and operational employees working in the State’s programs
  • Ensure clinical supervision is provided and documented
  • Monitor employee utilization, including setting employee utilization goals based on annual budget, reviewing utilization with employees, and developing action plans based on identified barriers to utilization goal attainment when necessary 
  • Provide input to the compliance team to ensure clinical documentation adheres to specific requirements (Trauma-Informed Care, Evidence-Based practices, ASAM, etc.) and that documentation is compliant with program regulations and licensing standards 
  • Oversee payer contracts within the State and operationalize the maximization of all bundle-eligible members
  • Work collaboratively with Central, Implementation, Tech, Product, Medical, and other State leaders to support projects/initiatives within the State

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, business, organizational leadership, or other relevant field
  • Maine License as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and/or Clinical Social Work
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the treatment and recovery field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in managerial or leadership roles
  • Willingness to travel as necessary (primarily in Maine)
