Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking an experienced state/product manager to join our dynamic and growing State Management Organization. As part of our team, you will have direct oversight of the rate levels, rating plans, and profit/revenue of several marketplaces around the country.
More specifically, we're looking for you to:
- Independently analyze state rate levels and rating structures, in order to provide impactful rating plan recommendations aligned with target goals for assigned states/region.
- Establish state and line of business targets, while developing clear and comprehensive proposals for revisions in assigned states that achieve growth and profitability goals.
- Build strategies to respond to state-specific challenges and meet strategic objectives.
- Become the expert for assigned states/region, utilizing advanced analytical tools, while assessing the competitive, legislative and regulatory landscape.
- Collaborate with sales, underwriting, marketing and claims teams in order to provide recommendations related to risk selection, target markets/risk segments and loss mitigation.
- Continuously monitor marketplace and legislative changes in assigned states to assess the impact on the business.
- Supervise a team of state analysts and/or state managers.
We're looking to bring your strengths to the team:
- A minimum of five years of experience in an actuarial/state management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of ratemaking principles and personal lines actuarial techniques and theories.
- Strong business acumen, quantitative skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills, and demonstrated ability to partner across departments
- Technical proficiency related to data querying, data analytics, and spreadsheet construction.
- Bachelor's Degree in applied mathematics, statistics or related field preferred but not required.
The role is located in our Lincoln, RI office, and is a hybrid model of 3 days in office and two remote days per week.
