In this position, you will be a key member of the Simplot Agribusiness Regulatory Department responsible for leading the "state team" through state product registrations, licensing, product and sales reporting and related activities. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively communicate with state regulators, internal customers and team members to respond to and resolve state-related questions and concerns
- Assist team members in responding to deficiencies, violations or complaint investigations
- Manage postings and distribution of labels and related documents (SDS, organic certificates) on internal and external sites (i.e., Agrian, plant sites)
- Coordinate timely processing of state registrations with licensing and reporting team members
- Assist with inventory, system management or other point of sale action required as a result of any state registration changes
- Represent the team in acquisition or new business location discussions or committees
- Supervise and support our state team consisting of three direct reports responsible for licensing, reporting and other projects
- Develop and maintain a standard operating procedure for the state team positions
- Ensure communication and transparency as to status of state team projects
- Manage the budget for state registration, licensing and reporting costs
- Contribute to the development, implementation, training, updating and auditing of the AgriBusiness regulatory program to ensure compliance
- Serve as resource or back up for other team members
- Participate in and monitor activities of governmental and/or industry working groups
- Monitor and communicate state regulation changes and their impact to our key stakeholders
- Participate in business and employee training related to state registrations and overall regulatory compliance
Bachelor's degree required, equivalent education and experience may be considered
Relevant Experience
- Three-to-five years related experience and/or training
- Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with state and industry regulators, as well as internal employees
- Ability to read and understand detailed state regulations
- Ability to travel approximately 20% - this includes travel to other company sites and attendance at various industry events
