Position Overview
StepStone is currently seeking candidates looking to gain exposure to the intersection of Environment, Social and Governance (āESGā) and data analysis/reporting. The Responsible Investment (āRIā) Data and Reporting Associate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the private markets industry and develop skills for private markets data analysis, ESG and Impact non-financial reporting data analysis. Opportunities to develop a deep understanding of private markets and ESG subject matter concepts by working closely with the RI and StepStone Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (āSPARā)Ā teams, assisting in dedicated ESG investment data analysis and reporting efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of a dedicated team providing data monitoring, analysis and reporting support to the Firmās Responsible Investment team.Ā Includes expectation for supervision and mentoring of a team Analyst.
- Support RI team project management initiatives, helping to ensure initiatives are progressing in accordance with RI team annual strategic plans.
- Support the development of ESG and Impact-related materials, including collecting ESG related data for customized reports, dashboards, and presentations highlighting ESG trends and analyses.
- Learn, use, and improve performance reporting systems and analytics dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI) to compile accurate and timely reports for ESG and Impact-related materials.
- Assist RI team stakeholders with specific quarterly, annual, or ad hoc projects and client-related requests.
- Timely execution of RI team data analysis and collection requests regarding ESG and Impact-related matters, including RFP responses, ESG reporting, annual meeting presentations, white papers, press releases, podcasts, etc.
- Support the ongoing integration of StepStoneās ESG data into relational database structures.
- Perform quality control to ensure ESG data accuracy by leveraging RI teamās predetermined ESG criteria and thresholds and guiding documentation.
- Assist with the implementation of corporate and investment-focused sustainability initiatives such as carbon footprinting.Ā
- Actively collaborate with various teams across the Firm to obtain all necessary information required for completion of deliverables, compiling final information in a manner consistent with StepStone global reporting Ā standards.
- Support engagements with data consultants to enhance ESG data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Analyze internal processes to identify improvement opportunities and devise and implement innovative solutions.
Skills and Qualifications may include:
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting, Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience with performance reporting software and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot and Tabular Models
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Interest in ESG metrics, Impact Investing, and reporting
- Basic understanding or interest in common ESG sustainability frameworks (i.e., GRI, TCFD, SASB, GRESB, IRIS+, IMP, OPIM, etc.)
- Interest in Global Private Markets
- Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills
- Promote and demonstrate a positive, teamāoriented attitude
- Dynamic, hard-working and a self-starter, ability to manage multiple projects to tight timeframes
- Willingness and determination to learn and improve
Salary Range - $64,000.00 - $115,200.00
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.Ā Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.Ā The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
