Key ResponsibilitiesStorage Administration: Dell Isilon/PowerScale

• Manage and maintain Dell Isilon/PowerScale environments, including configuration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and optimize file storage, ensuring effective capacity planning and utilization.
• Implement data replication and disaster recovery solutions to ensure storage resilience and high availability.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to maintain optimal performance and security.
• Implement access controls and data encryption to ensure data security and compliance.

Backup Administration: Rubrik

• Oversee Rubrik backup systems, ensuring successful backups, restores, and recoveries as per data protection standards.
• Monitor backup performance, troubleshoot failures, and resolve backup and restore issues.
• Design and implement backup schedules, policies, and retention standards in alignment with business requirements.
• Perform periodic testing of disaster recovery and backup solutions to validate data recovery strategies.
• Regularly review and update backup configurations and documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Monitor and tune performance of both Dell Isilon/PowerScale and Rubrik environments to meet organizational demands.
• Implement proactive measures to optimize storage and backup performance, including capacity planning and usage reporting.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve storage and backup-related performance issues.

Incident Management and Support

• Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting for storage and backup systems.
• Document and resolve incidents, applying root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth integration of storage and backup solutions across environments.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and security standards.
• Provide regular reporting on storage usage, backup success rates, and data recovery readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in storage and backup administration, with hands-on experience managing Dell Isilon/PowerScale and Rubrik solutions.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Dell Isilon/PowerScale storage platforms, including SmartConnect, SyncIQ, and SnapshotIQ.
  • Proficiency with Rubrik backup solutions, including policy management, job monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with networking and storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI, etc.).
  • Familiarity with backup best practices, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability strategies.
  • Knowledge of data security, compliance, and encryption practices.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC Isilon Specialist, Rubrik Certified Systems Engineer (RCSE), or equivalent are advantageous.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, and collaborative teamwork.
