The Role

The Storage Operations Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of Storage as a Service (StaaS) to our clients, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You’ll manage daily operations, resolve complex incidents and problems, and introduce new methods and technologies to enhance efficiency. The role also involves integrating innovations into operations and increasing automation levels. Your responsibilities will include:

• Serve as a liaison between Hitachi local delivery team, Product Engineering, and the Customer Managed Service Operations Team
• Lead complex Incidents/tasks and changes remotely to clients' infrastructure
• Perform Performance, Capacity, and Load analysis, conduct root cause analysis, and plan system software upgrades while ensuring SLAs are met
• Supporting the L2/L3 block storage team and reporting improvement potential and technical innovations to the regional Service Delivery Manager

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of client systems support and a minimum of 5 years of IT work experience
• Strong understanding of Block and Unified storage concepts and software
• Wide experience in Infrastructure environments/architectures (Storage, Network, Computer)
• Understanding of IT Service Management processes and methods (ITIL)
• Programming/Scripting Capabilities
• Fluent in written and spoken English language, German would be an asset
