Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Solution Engineer you’ll work closely with clients and the account team to define technology solutions including system-level architectures and technology services that meet the client’s business goals. In this role you are essential to the evaluation of the business needs and defining solutions with IBM technology and services that leverage and fit in with the client’s software hardware and infrastructure. A successful Solution Engineer will look for repeatable architecture patterns automation and assets to be deployed at scale to optimize each client engagement. As a member of IBM Technology Expert Labs Solution Engineering you will be client focused courageous pragmatic and at the edge of technology to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges.

• Working closely with IBM Storage clients to understand their main challenges and develop solutions to help them deliver critical IBM Storage environments with stability security and agility.
• Working together with IBM Storage and Expert Labs Sales team to respond to client opportunities with proposals aligned to their business needs to create IBM Storage solutions using the latest technologies.
• Working closely with our WW Technology Expert Labs Product Management and delivery contributing to the development of assets methodologies and service offerings that will help in making the IBM Storage services scalable repeatable and standardized.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client partner and IBM team.
• Understanding clients’ main challenges and developing solutions that helps them reach true business value by working thru the phases of discovery design development integration implementation migration and product support with a sense of urgency.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Deep expertise in solutioning deploying and optimizing solutions for IBM Storage and associated software including IBM Storage DS8000 Performance Copy Services Disaster Recovery solutions (CSM z/OS HyperSwap GDPS fundamentals) Z storage fundamentals FICON attachments and zHyperLink. Expertise in DS8K migration tools like TDMF would be an added advantage
• Expertise in IBM Storage Tape implementation i.e. TS7700
• Expertise in IBM Storage FlashSystem implementation performance Safeguarded Copy and Policy Based High Availability set up
• Excellent communication documentation and presentation skills that are engaging compelling and influential whilst working independently.
• 10+ years of experience with IBM Storage and solution consulting or relevant industry experience.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Large experience with advisory type of roles or direct leadership for IBM Storage transformation projects leveraging business partners for execution as needed.
• Deep expertise in developing and maintaining long-term relationships with Customers through managing and interpreting their requirements and leading services engagements to successful outcomes.
• Experience with the following products will be highly regarded: IBM Z Red Hat OpenShift Red Hat Linux watsonx.data virtualization (KVM VMWare) IBM Data and AI Storage solutions Object Storage IBM Cloud Pak for data IBM Storage Fusion HCI System and software Red Hat and IBM Ceph Storag
