Storeroom Clerk

Job Summary

The Storeroom Clerk is responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient storeroom, providing the necessary supplies and equipment to the maintenance team and ensuring the accuracy of inventory levels and stock control. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a storeroom environment, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. On a short-term basis, this person will work the night shift, helping ensure coverage at the plant as we start up.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain stock levels for repair/maintenance parts, including descriptions, pricing, stock and location for all repair parts. 
• Work closely with Maintenance Planner to ensure adequate kitting for maintenance projects
• Receive parts and assist with the offloading of delivery vehicles
• Receive all parts ordered into the CMMS and match all the paperwork against the purchase order.
• Contact vendors as needed to obtain price quotes, follow up on parts orders and set up service requests. 
• Perform inventory cycle counts regularly and create reports as requested for Plant Management, analyzing parts usage and noting relevant trends in the data. 
• Receive and transfer parts between facilities, making sure to track all parts entering and leaving the storeroom. 
• Assist in planning work projects for the Maintenance Department, including creating work orders, writing process descriptions and calling vendors to obtain price quotes.
• Order office, safety and production equipment as needed. 
• Pick up specific parts and items when needed immediately to avoid downtime. 
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations
• Support all safety, quality and sanitation initiatives and policies
• Participate in the continuous improvement of storeroom processes and procedures
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience with maintenance parts management within manufacturing
• Experience with CMMS required
• Knowledge of inventory control systems and software
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment is a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
• Experience working with internal purchasing teams and outside vendors
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to challenges
• Experience with new plant startups is a plus
