Strategic Accessibility Engineer Summary:

Strategic accessibility engineer is an enterprise role that will help teams identify their accessibility needs, train the teams on how to do the work, train testers and devs on best practices, perform testing, create RSM best practices, and bring awareness to accessibility needs.

In addition, RSM would like to make sure accessibility practices are built into our SDLC from the beginning of the process by:

• incorporating accessibility into our core design practices so that basic accessibility features are included into our UX design standards
• building processes to make sure that accessibility is planned as part of the early product design and requirements definition phases of the project
• making sure our design pattern library is accessibility friendly by updating and expanding our assets with that goal in mind

RSM would also like to expand to some future goals including defining free and low cost accessibility features that should be standard on all RSM built software, documenting and training teams on how to make sure those standards are included in their design and providing training to BAs on how to define accessibility requirements on projects where there isn't an accessibility resources as well as creating and updating templates teams can use to capture those requirements.
