Job Description

The Strategic Account Executive's primary responsibilities include strategic management for assigned accounts and broker/consultant relationships. The individual is responsible for the sale and retention of additional products and/or services and building trusted relationships with their book of business.

This is a career-level position that is considered highly skilled at sales techniques and demonstrates a strong understanding of company products and services, along with in-depth knowledge of the employer health insurance industry.

This is an opportunity that would allow you to work a hybrid of working from home, in the office as well as community facing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 5+ years of successful health insurance sales or large client management experience required
  • Experience in providing consultative strategic planning to employers, working directly with clients or through broker/agents
  • Commercial group insurance, health plan products, medical benefits, carrier industry experience required


Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of developing high-quality client relationships with c-suite and staff at all levels in book of business, driving high levels of client satisfaction and serving as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills and ability to articulate reports, budgets, renewals and financial data
  • Outstanding communication skills and superior presentation skills; responsive ability to communicate effectively with all levels within a customer's business
  • Ability to set realistic goals, manage expectations and prioritize needs of competing interests [client, operations, sales, etc.]
  • Market intelligence liaison for internal product and sales teams
  • Self-driven, motivated, results orientedand strong problem solving abilities needed for this role


Required Certifications/Licensure:

  • MN State life and health insurance license is required
  • CEBS designation is encouraged


This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the Minnetonka office for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
