Job Description

The role of the Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is to build and maintain key relationships with customers. SAM's are responsible for developing long-term, trusting, mutually beneficial strategic relationships with a portfolio of new and legacy clients, and developing a trusted advisor relationship with the client's key business executives, project sponsors and stakeholders. As an outcome of that relationship, the SAM develops a long-term strategic roadmap between Datex and the customer, actively seeks, develops, qualifies and closes Cross-sell, Up-sell, and Expansion opportunities from their assigned portfolio. In summary, they are responsible for the Contractual, Revenue, Strategic and overall Relationship aspects of the customer relationships.

With strong customer service and interpersonal skills for dealing with different types of clients, the Strategic Account Manager will strive to understand the client's operations, future plans, personnel, budget, and current constraints to proactively recommend and position solutions to ensure client success and improve the customer experience.

You must reside in the United States to be considered for this role. The successful candidate must travel within the United States approximately 30% of the work year.

To be successful in this role, prior experience in WMS, Supply Chain, Logistics is imperative.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned key accounts.
  • Establish, execute, and maintain regular communications with the customer's executive and leadership team, including Quarterly Business Reviews, to ensure the customers' long-term vision remains aligned with Datex's long-term vision.
  • Acting as liaison, coordinate with various internal departments to ensure alignment, awareness, and successful delivery of contracted services.
  • Responsible for the annual contractual negotiations and renewals, as well as maintaining an Account Plan for each account.
  • By suggesting solutions and innovative ideas, build a pipeline of Cross-sell, Up-sell, and Expansion opportunities, and successfully closing such opportunities to drive revenue and maximize profits in accordance with personal quota as well as company revenue targets.
  • In alignment and partnership with the CSM teams, drive 95% Customer Retention.
  • Generate awareness of and drive participation in the various Client Programs, such as User Groups, User Conferences, monthly webinars, etc.
  • As needed, work with the appropriate Datex organizations to assist with ensuring the timely payment of all contractually owed payments from the customers, as well as assist with the resolution of customer issues and concerns.
  • Maintain the CRM system records for all assigned accounts.
  • Support Sales, Marketing and CSM teams with the Reference process as requested/required from their assigned customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in related field) and/or at least 5 years of experience in the supply chain industry.
  • 5-7 years' experience in Account Management, Sales, or Business Development
  • 5-7 years' experience with a Saas, Software or Technology company
  • 5-7 years' experience within the WMS, Supply Chain and/or Logistics industry preferred
  • Updated job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
