Role Summary
The Strategic Accounts Manager works with Bottomline’s strategic banking and financial institution customers to achieve customer delight by orchestrating the efforts of Bottomline sales, solutions consulting, product, services and support teams to grow customer relationships while ensuring we achieve customer desired outcomes and value. The Strategic Accounts Manager’s priorities are:
- Align the strategic vision of both parties and document in a shared customer journey roadmap
- Maintain executive level relationships via ongoing communications and governance
- Determine key performance metrics that are critical to Delighting each strategic account, set clear ownership across the organization for specific metrics and drive accountability through regular measurement and reporting
- Grow customer relationships by identifying opportunities to deliver additional Bottomline Software Solutions and drive the business development for incremental Services
- Formulate, own and drive commercial and relationship plans for each account
- Supports Sales and Implementation process, but takes lead role in Account & Relationship Management for Strategic Accounts in Production
This is a senior role within the Bottomline Digital Banking team and reports to the GM Enterprise Banking. The individual must understand the customer’s business and their specific industry requirements to be effective. This individual is ultimately responsible for orchestrating a highly successful customer relationship with Bottomline that leads to retention, renewal and account growth. The Strategic Accounts Manager will be required to manage a portfolio of customers, liaise with various internal functional groups (product, engineering, delivery, support, …) as well as Bottomline’s business partners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Â

- Full accountability for relationship management, success and customer delight
- Understand customer business goals and convey these goals to Bottomline functional teams to ensure long term customer delight, account growth, retention and renewal
- Develop proposals and estimates for new business opportunities and partnerships
- Organize written status and host monthly internal account reviews
- Organize written status and host quarterly customer executive meetings
- Act as the key customer escalation point during post-implementation activities
- Work with the GM Enterprise Banking to leverage common processes and practices within the Strategic Accounts portfolio
- Work with larger Banking Solutions leadership team to identify, develop and commercialize innovation opportunities across the Strategic Accounts portfolio
What will make you successful:
- The candidate must have held a position in which they had a direct and extensive, successful working relationship with senior executives
- Strong financial services or banking background
- Previous sales, relationship management and program management experience in enterprise class applications
- Demonstrated success in business development and growing customer relationships
- Familiar with project management techniques, SDLC processes and tools.
- Experience in writing proposals and business cases for new opportunities
- Strong verbal and writing skills, presentation skills, and motivational techniques
- A willingness and enthusiasm for travel.
