Reporting to the Sr Procurement Manager, you as a Strategic Buyer will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating the direct materials from vendors. Provides strong day-to-day support of manufacturing Operations in providing support appropriate to attaining On Time Delivery and Cost Containment for Strategic and Base Business customers.

About The Job

• Source materials following established purchasing policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and payment terms with minimum supervision.

• Providing Procurement support for Annual Cost Reduction goals/budgets.

• Responsible for the initiatives in order to impact in positive manner the Purchase Price Variance (PPV).

• Work with cross functional team for cost reduction project

• Support fulfillment team for on time delivery by expediting of open orders, seeking out alternative materials and alternate supply sources

• Provide the Procurement function in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change (ECO) process in an exceptionally timely way to Prevent NPI/ECO delays that could have negative demand fulfillment support ramifications or loss of New Business.

• Support payment term negotiation to achieve DPO (Days Payables Outstanding) target

• Facilitate supplier consolidation, localization initiatives.

About you:

• Relevant BS degree or equivalent work experience in Procurement.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong problem solving communication and interpersonal skills.

• Two-years’ minimum experience in the area of procurement in manufacturing or related environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP is highly desired.

• The Category Management experience for the following commodities and knowledge of Mexico supplier base is highly desired: electronic components, printed circuit boards, metal fabrication, fasteners, raw material (metals), injection molding parts.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, demonstrated ability to multi-task, with strong follow up skills. Strong ability to understand and adjust to priorities.

• Ability to coordinate and track activities by metrics.

• Job is available for Virtual/Remote work within Mexico Country but it requires travel occasionally to suppliers or Littelfuse Plants.
