Strategic Capabilities Insights Analyst (Remote)
Job Description
Our Strategic Capabilities team defines 'strategic capability' as, "The organizational ability to reliably and consistently deliver outcomes that drive differentiated competitive advantage critical to achieving your strategic objectives." Our team views strategic capabilities as spanning the business ecosystem in which we operate which includes five key elements - skills, organization, processes, culture, and tools & knowledge. Our team's work focuses on identifying, assessing, and diagnosing strategic capabilities across these five elements as a basis for then supporting the design and deployment of solutions that build, grow, strengthen, and sustain those capabilities. Thus, our team is a key enabler of Mars' aspiration to become a Capability-Driven Organization (CDO).
This Strategic Capabilities Insights Analyst will be responsible for defining and deploying our team's data analytics practices as an integral member of our Strategic Capabilities Practice Team (SCP Team). The role will partner closely with key corporate, segment (business) and functional leaders, People & Organization (HR) stakeholders, and our SCP Team members to assess and diagnose future capability building needs and gaps. The role will offer deep expertise in strategic capability assessment, planning and building to help translate business strategy into data-driven capability development roadmaps.
What are we looking for?
- Experience partnering with all types of groups, individuals, and vendors to source external and internal data necessary to assess and diagnose strategic capabilities.
- Experience in software configuration/setup/admin
- Ability to coordinate projects across a largely matrixed, global, and complex organization with competing priorities and perspectives
- Demonstrated experience translating detailed research and data analytics into digestible, actionable stories tailored to the audience
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Establish and maintain means for capturing, standardizing, managing, and leveraging data to assess and diagnose strategic capabilities.
- Establish and maintain data management and analytics practices within our SCP Team in a manner that enables transfer of data between our team and similar groups across Mars.
- Develop and maintain analytic tools that provide ongoing diagnosis and insight regarding the status of key strategic capabilities that span the entire enterprise, span a segment, or span a function.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of analytic tools, sometimes in partnership with external vendors, that are appropriate for assessing and diagnosing capabilities in support of projects that address all five domains of strategic capabilities: skills, organization, processes, culture, and tools & knowledge.
- Our Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) analytics product is an example of an analytics tool that's already been created to assess one of the five domains of strategic capabilities, skills. This tool adopts SWP market-leading practices, research, and data tool techniques to analyze and produce insights from a combination of external and internal skills data.
- These products will be geared towards answering both operational and transformative questions of our business and can span a variety of topics and technical stacks. As a member of the SCP Team, this role will support other team members, clients, and stakeholders with the project-based usage, implementation, and maintenance of these products.
What can you expect from Mars?
- Work with over 130,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.
- Join a purpose driven company, where we're striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
- Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
- An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
